Siena College swept a three-game set with MAAC rival Iona this past weekend in Loudonville.

The three Saints victories move Siena to 10-2 in league play -- good enough for first place.

In addition to Siena’s success, another cool piece of information emerged from that series.

Mariano Rivera’s son, a sophomore for Iona, was on the mound in game two. He threw a complete game.

Six innings and just two earned runs for Mariano Jr. Not a bad showing, even in a loss. And a cool link for the Capital Region to one of the best pitchers in major league history.
