Raul Ibanez, Alex Rodriguez, and Joe Girardi all combined to make some history in Game 3 against the Baltimore Orioles that will not be forgotten anytime soon.

The New York Yankees were able to win a dramatic Game 3 against the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night. The Yankees beat Baltimore 3-2 in 12 innings thanks to two enormous home runs by Raul Ibanez. The Yankees trailed the Orioles 2-1 with one out in the 9th inning when Ibanez tied the game with a solo shot. Ibanez ended the game with a walkoff homer in the 12th inning.

Manager Joe Girardi elected to bench Alex Rodriguez in the 9th inning in favor of Raul Ibanez. A-Rod is only hitting a pathetic .083 heading into Game 4 of the ALDS on Thursday night. Rodriguez went 0-for-3 with 2 strikeouts in Game 3 before being benched. Girardi made the correct decision by inserting Ibanez into the game. It’s a move that will not be forgotten about for a long, long time.
