After opening up the season with just a 13-point loss at Kentucky, optimism was high for the University at Albany men's basketball team as they traveled to Boston University on Monday night.

But that optimism went away once the Danes couldn't hit a shot in the second half and eventually fell, 69-64.

The Danes shot 37 percent for the night, including a miserable 28 percent in the second half. Peter Hooley and Mike Rowley led the way with 15 points apiece.

The Danes got nothing from all-conference guards Ray Sanders (6 points) and Evan Singletary (5 points), but Sanders had nine rebounds to tie for the team lead.

Hooley (3-14), Sanders (2-10), and Singletary (1-9) led the poor overall shooting night. The Danes were also 1-13 from three-point range in the game. They were 1-14 the other night, so they have to get better in that regard.

The bright spot for Albany was newcomer Travis Charles, who had 14 points on 7-10 shooting. The Danes open up their home schedule on Thursday against Colgate at Sefcu Arena.
