Siena Senior Baseball Player Named Seasons 1st Player Of The Week

Congratulations goes out to Siena Saints Senior Larry Balkwill. His exploits last week led Siena to a big win over national power Central Florida and earned him the 1st of the seasons MAAC player of the week honors.

Balkwill, from Canada had a huge series vs C.Florida. In the 3 game series Balkwill hit .364 and knocked in 3 runs. In the Saints win on Saturday, Balkwill had 2 hits including the big 2 run single that led his club to a 7-4 win.

Balkwill posted a .417 on base percentage and a .455 slugging percentage. He also played flawless defense with 15 putouts and an assist.

Balkwill had a solid summer session earning 1st team all state honors and all Canadian team honors.

The Saints will get back o the field this coming weekend when they play at William and Mary.
