Quite simply put: Friday's  baseball game at Shen between the Silver Warriors and Shen may be the biggest high school baseball game in the history of the Capital Region.

Niskayuna has senior Garrett Whitley, who is widely considered to be a potential first round draft pick in this year's MLB draft. Shen has junior pitcher Ian Anderson. Anderson, already verbally committed to reigning national champion Vanderbilt, touches 90 miles per hour and could attract serious major league attention in next year's draft.

Niskayuna has played every game in front of at least 15 scouts this season. Rumor has it this game could attract 50 or more.

Friday at 4:15, Plainsmen Park, is the place to be. Niskayuna head coach John Furey joined me today to talk about that matchup, the attention surrounding his program this year, and what makes Whitley such a highly-touted prospect.
