New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is the new spokesperson for TiVo.  I personally think Mark Sanchez would’ve done a much better job in this ad.  (Kidding.)

I feel the need to clearly state (before I rip Tim Tebow) that I like the guy.  He carries himself in a very respectful manner and is a highly likable guy.  I’m a big fan of Tim Tebow the guy.  I’m not a big fan of Tim Tebow the quarterback, and after this commercial, I’m not a fan whatsoever of Tim Tebow the actor.

Tebow doesn’t sound natural in this commercial at all.  TiVo better have one heck of a soundtrack underneath this ad for it to really work.  They need some loud crashing drum cymbals or something.

One more criticism (I’m sorry); I think it’s often hokey when athletes make obvious comments that tie in the sport that they play.  While Tebow makes a throwing motion while saying, “It can record up to four things at once, and lets you throw it to your tablet or iPhone.”  Oh, I get it.  Tebow.  Quarterback.  Throw it.  I see what TiVo just did.

Although I’m not a big fan of this commercial at all, I’m highly interested to find out what happens with the New York Jets this weekend.  Will Tim Tebow get more time under center?  Will the Jets fall to 3-7 on the season?  Listen to coverage of Gang Green taking on the St. Louis Rams this Sunday at 1:00pm ET.  Pregame coverage begins at Noon on 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio.
