UAlbany track star Grace Claxton is currently in Oregon at the NCAA Track & Field Championships getting ready to compete in the 400m hurdles. Her events semifinals are on July 9th.

Furthermore, because the time she registered at NCAA qualifiers was so good, Claxton also qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio. She will go, despite health concerns and facility concerns, and will compete for Puerto Rico.

We spoke to Claxton today about her emotions at the NCAA Championships, the honor of representing her country and if deciding to go to Rio was a hard decision because of the health problems in Brazil. What has the advice been like from those close to her? Were people in her life against the decision?

Finally, what does she think her emotions will be like when she enters the Olympic Stadium in Rio?
