We have a new leader in the America East conference and it is your UAlbany Great Danes.

With a come from behind 56-46 win over Hartford, the Danes are atop the division as we head into a brand new week.

Led by two Aussies, the Danes rallied from down five (32-27) at the break. Rowley scored 17 points and grabbed eight boards. His mate Peter Hooley had a better ballgame with 18 points and 12 rebounds. The usual high scoring back court of Mike Black and Jacob Iati combined for just 14 points. Black shot just 1-13. However Black's bucket and a foul on Hartford gave the Great Danes the lead early in the second half and they never trailed again.

UAlbany has now won four straight in their latest winning streak and seven of eight overall. The win for UAlbany ties them with Vermont at 5-1 in the America East but overall, the Danes have a much better record, 16-4 compared to Vermont's 12-6.

The Danes now begin a four game home stand that will see them start with Boston University. Also coming to town over the next 10 days are in order Vermont, third place Stony Brook and then Binghamton in the annual Big Purple Growl game.
