The Section II high school basketball season is finally over but not without some awesome storylines.  Shaker, Berne Knox Westerlo, and Glens Falls all won state championships and Glen Falls won their second straight.  It is a long season and a total grind so I am am very happy for all three coaches, Aric Kucel, Andy Wright, and Rob Girard.  Every year the popularity grows more and more with high school basketball around the Capital Region.  And if you don't believe me, than just actually go to the games at either HVCC or Glens Falls or this year for the first time in Binghamton.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

Three Section 2 Boys' basketball teams won State Championships and all three provided great story lines. Shaker and Berne-Knox Westerlo won the schools their first ever State Championships while Glens Falls completed an incredible two year run that culminated in back-to-back State Titles and a 54-game unbeaten streak. One common theme is how well coached all three team were this season. Aric Kucel, Andy Wright and Rob Girard all deserve a tremendous amount of credit for having their teams well prepared every game.
