While it is still early on in the regular season, the New York Yankees need to beat their divisional rival Baltimore Orioles The Orioles the first time around at Camden Yards but that was a while ago.  Since then the Yankees have honestly been the better team overall.  The Orioles have lost some pitchers and Gerrit Cole coming back on Wednesday is huge for the Pinstripes.  The Yanks had a disappointing series loss to the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park where the Red Sox stole nine bases which is embarrassing.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in The Times Union:

The New York Yankees season doesn't officially begin until the playoffs start but between now and then there are certain series that will tell a bigger story like the one that starts Tuesday at home against the Baltimore Orioles. In the preseason the Orioles were the team to beat and still could be, but the Yankees are in first place. All eyes be on Yankee Stadium and especially Wednesday when Gerrit Cole makes his season debut. The Orioles beat the Yankees three out of four earlier in the season at Camden Yards and now the Yankees get a chance to punch back in the Bronx.

Luis Gil continues to be incredible for the Yankees and has been their ace without Cole.  The lineup has been so good led by Judge and Soto and that won't change and the Yankees have been very healthy for the most part.
