The New York Yankees look to continue their push towards the playoffs as they called up top prospect Luis Severino.  Severino is slated to make his MLB debut against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday night.

Severino is essentially a three-pitch-pitcher.  He features a mid-90s fastball, an unbearable slider, and a change-up that will leave hitters shaking their heads.  He clearly has the "stuff" to be an MLB pitcher and with the way he has performed in the minors thus far, he looks to be ready.

In 11 games with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Severino is 7-0 with a 1.91 ERA and averaging 7.3 strikeouts per 9-innings.  There is no doubt he is ready.

Severino could be the shot in the arm that the Yankees pitching rotation needs down the stretch in order to fend off the orioles and Blue Jays.
