Former Met, Yankee Wins Epic Twitter Battle vs. Radio Host
For our next story, we now go live to Twitter, the universe's answer to the question "What should I be mad about today?" for an EPIC Twitter beef involving a former New York sports fan favorite.
The beef in question is between former Mets' and Yankees' infielder Todd Frazier, and current Pittsburgh afternoon sports host Mark Madden. The exchange came about after news broke earlier yesterday that Frazier had been designated for assignment by the Pittsburgh Pirates. While the move made sense in the moment, as Frazier had started the season with three hits in 35 at-bats, the infielder has had an incredible MLB career, and is widely considered to be one of the nicer players in the game.
Enter, grumpy radio host Mark Madden. Matches, meet kerosene.
I know exactly what Mark Madden was trying to do, and to a degree, he was successful. He wanted to cause a stir, as he is known to do with many inflammatory takes, and get people talking about him while using Frazier as the punching bag. There is no doubt in my mind that his radio show saw a spike in ratings yesterday.
But GOODNESS, did Todd Frazier come out on top here. He even included a picture of the host which, I must admit, does seem less-than-flattering. Somewhere, deep within the layers of hate and vitriol, is the lesson "if you wouldn't say it to someone's face, why would you say it at all?"
Clearly, Mark Madden isn't familiar with his nursery rhymes anymore, because he blew right past that.
