How Important Is The Remaining Schedule For The UAlbany Men?
The UAlbany men's basketball team has had a rough season so far. They had a brutal road non conference schedule as they are not playing on their home court this season with the reconstruction and renovation of SEFCU Arena. There are still eight games remaining and chance for the Great Danes to get into their America East conference tournament in March. Two bright spots among many with this team have been the two local freshman. Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:
It’s been a tough ride in America East Conference play for the UAlbany men’s basketball team, but two Capital Region players are having promising seasons. Jonathan Beagle from Hudson Falls and Marcus Jackson from Amsterdam, have both shined in an otherwise difficult season. Beagle has been as good as advertised, and his one of the better players in the Conference. Jackson has gotten better with each passing week, and has a very bright future. Beagle will win conference player of the year at least once before his UAlbany career is over, and both players will play big roles in the success of the Great Danes program moving forward.
MJ and I have had a very fun together calling these games and we have another on Wednesday as the Great Danes visit the Umass Lowell Riverhawks, who is their only opponent that they have beaten in conference play. Albany will get more wins this season they just need to piece it all together as head coach Dwayne Killings has told us repeatedly. It's off to Umass Lowell Wednesday night at 6 p.m. for the Great Danes.
