Jeff Hoffman, Shaker High School graduate and 2014 first-round MLB Draft Pick, has earned a promotion to AA New Hampshire after making 11 starts for the Single-A Dunedin Blue Jays. He will start Friday.

Hoffman was 3-3 with a 3.21 ERA for Dunedin, but he's really picked it up of late:

Hoffman did not pitch professionally last season after being drafted. He underwent Tommy John Surgery right before the draft and the Blue Jays still took him No. 9 overall. He made his debut with Dunedin in May.

Hoffman is armed with a mid-to-high 90s fastball, and an arsenal of offspeed pitches that give him a chance to be one a high-level major league arm.

He, Daniel Norris, and Marcus Stroman give the Blue Jays plenty of reasons for optimism in their future rotation.

Furthermore, we spoke to Dunedin Blue Jays broadcaster Marshall Kelner recently about Hoffman, and you can listen to that below.

In New Hampshire, Hoffman will join 2006 Shen grad Murphy Smith.
