2015 was a pretty good one for Lake George native Joel Wincowski.

The star basketball player graduated high school, won a state championship, broke Jimmer Fredette's all-time Section II scoring record and started his career at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County.

Wincowski and his UMBC Retrievers will come to Albany on Jan. 6th in what is a homecoming for the Capital Region native.

I got a chance to speak with him this morning about the excitement level surrounding his chance to come home. Furthermore, Wincowski expects a large contingent of Lake George fans to be there - as the high school actually moved a game as to not interfere.

Furthermore, Wincowski talked about the biggest adjustments from high school to college ball and he touched on his relationship with fellow Capital Region/America East rookie Joe Cremo.

Wincowski is averaging just over one point a game but has earned two starts already in his college career. UMBC is 4-10.
