In a New York Mets' game that meant nothing, Gary, Keith and Ron welcomed the star of the show about nothing to the broadcast booth.

Legendary comedian, and diehard New York Mets fan, Jerry Seinfeld stopped by the Mets' broadcast booth to chat with team broadcasters Gary Cohen, Keith Hernandez and Ron Darling. This isn't the first time that Seinfeld has donned the fourth microphone, but appears to be the first time that he's been back since before the pandemic hit.

Seinfeld and the guys talked about a number of things, including this year's New York Mets team (which has no shortage of jokes to be made at their expense), and the upcoming debut of Seinfeld on Netflix.

Take a look at SNY's recap of the visit below.

First and foremost, for a Mets fan, Jerry Seinfeld is a very positive person. He expresses his love for Javier Baez, something few Mets fans do anymore. He brought up some of the season's more memorable moments, including a Michael Conforto outfield assist that led to an emphatic "pen toss" from Gary Cohen.

For your enjoyment, here is an example of a pen toss:

It's a move that's reached legendary status.

Anyway, the visit also included a bit of commentary from Seinfeld, dabbling in a bit of play-by-play, as well as color analysis, as the Mets battled the Marlins in a game between two eliminated teams. As is customary with the charismatic Seinfeld, he added a great deal of life and excitement to his commentary, while also including his trademark comedic touch to certain moments, including his announcement that the broadcast would be back "after a word from Just for Men".

That's gold, Jerry. Gold.

Seinfeld hits Netflix on October 1st, meaning as of Friday, I can finally finish my quest to watch the entire series from start to finish. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during that difficult time, but as I settle in to continue my binge, please know, I've come out of this struggle a stronger person.

After watching this baseball season, most Mets fans probably have, too.
