MONTREAL (AP) — Henrik Lundqvist made 40 saves to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-1 win and a 2-0 lead in the Eastern Conference finals on Monday.

Ryan McDonagh had a goal and an assist for the Rangers and has six points in the series. Rick Nash and Martin St. Louis also scored.

Max Pacioretty scored for the Canadiens.

Dustin Tokarski allowed 3 goals on 30 shots. Tokarski was making his NHL playoff debut in place of starter Carey Price, who was injured in Game 1 and will miss the rest of the series.

Game 3 is Thursday at Madison Square Garden.
