This season could be the best example of why the Bowl Championship Series is awful.

Currently, there are four undefeated college football teams atop the BCS standings.  Alabama, Kansas State, Oregon, and Notre Dame have not dropped one game all season long.  There is still a lot of football left to be played.  It’s very likely that all four of these teams will not remain unbeaten before the season is over.  However, what if?

What if all of these teams remain undefeated heading into the bowl games?  You would have full-blown BCS anarchy.  You would have one of the most storied programs in the history of college (Notre Dame) on the outside looking in.  Really?

I’m originally from South Bend, IN.  I routinely state on “The Noe Show” just how much I love Notre Dame football.  This is not a pro-Notre Dame rant though.  This is an anti-BCS rant.

Notre Dame will not be in the BCS National Championship Game unless multiple teams lose in front of them.  That’s the way it should be.  I’m not arguing that Notre Dame should be #2 while Oregon and Kansas State get left out.  I’m arguing that all four teams should be alive in a four-team playoff system to determine who the true champion is.  You know; settle it on the field.  Seems like a plan that makes plenty of sense.
