With rosters expanding in September, the New York Yankees will add eight players to their active roster. These are mostly role players to help off the bench and in the bullpen, but you never know if one of the guys is the next Don Mattingly, or Shane Spencer but they will try.

The call-ups include; Andrew Bailey, Caleb Cotham, Rico Noel, Jamez Pazos, Rob Refsnyder, Jose Pirela, and Austin Romine. One of the biggest shocks to not get the call-up is OF Aaron Judge. Judge, quickly became a fan favorite during spring training  with his large stature, and big play ability. There's no question that some of these guys will become big impact players during the Yankees chase for October.

Rob Refsnyder 2B, will look to solidify himself as a major league ball player with this call up. He was with the Yankees during a four-game call-up, but then the team sent him back to Trenton, so they wouldn't have to cut a player.  The Yankees prefer Stephen Drew as the everyday guy at second base, but Refsnyder will get his chance when it comes to lefty pitchers.

Jose Pirela Utility, is another guy that fans may remember from the beginning of the season. Pirela struggles to get it going for the Yankees, while you could contribute it to him only getting a part-time role and not being able to get into a groove, he will have to shed that, and contribute if he wants a future in pinstripes. Pirela, can play all around the infield and the outfield, and showed that when he got a chance.

Dustin Ackley OF/2B, the former No.2 pick that the Yankees picked up at the trade deadline who was quickly put on the DL. While all that sounds bad, the left-handed power bat off the bench with the ability to play second base and all three outfield positions. Ackley is still only 27-years old, and could find himself if healthy next season with a permanent spot on the Yankees roster.
