College football is just days away from the start of a fun 13-15 week journey. Final preparations are being made as the excitement builds. UAlbany heads into the final season with legendary coach Bob Ford at the helm. Ford has named his captains for the season.

Four players will head up the ball club's captain roles as the season gets ready. The only junior named as captain is junior quarterback Will Fiacchi.

Three seniors get the nod from Ford. They are 6'7" offensive lineman Kadeem Williams from Jersey City, New Jersey, center Eric Laporta who hails from Yorktown Heights, New York, and Randall Exantus, defensive back from Greenlawn, New York.

Fiacchi started all 11 games last season for the Great Danes and set a UAlbany record in completed passes in the regular season. He also had 12 touchdowns with five interceptions.

The Great Danes open the season on Saturday, August 31 on the road at Duquesne. They open the final season at the new Bob Ford Field, named after their great coach on September 14th against Rhode Island.
