UAlbany Releases Non-Conference Schedule
After winning the America East Conference for the third straight year, the UAlbany men's basketball team is looking to head to the NCAA tournament for a fourth time in 2015-16.
The first step? Recruit. The second? Release the schedule. UAlbany did some of that on Monday, announcing its non-conference opponents:
DATE | OPPONENT | |
November | ||
13 | at Kentucky | |
16 | at Boston University
19 | COLGATE | |
21 | ONEONTA | |
24 | at USF | |
27 | NJIT | |
29 | YALE | |
December | ||
1 | at Quinnipiac | |
5 | at Holy Cross | |
9 | at Marist | |
12 | at Siena | |
19 | SAINT FRANCIS (PA.) | |
23 | NIAGARA | |
29 | at St. Francis Brooklyn
January | ||
2 | at Cornell |
Obviously the thing that sticks out is the Danes traveling to Kentucky. UAlbany certainly won't be expected to even compete against the Wildcats, but it's a great honor for Will Brown's program to play at historic Rupp Arena.
The other thing that jumps out for the Danes? The Nov. 21 against D-III Oneonta. The Red Dragons will come into SEFCU Arena, and it strikes me as an odd game for UAlbany. We'll talk to to Oneonta coach Vince Medici this morning.
I also like the game against South Florida as UAlbany continues to try to play up in its non-conference schedule.
