The Associated Press has released their first men's college basketball poll of the season and one MAAC team received seven points. Last year's regular season champion Monmouth Hawks received recognition from national voters but not enough to garner top twenty five status. The Hawks are in the same conference as the Siena Saints. The Saints play the Hawks in Albany on February 13th and on the road February 24th.

This season I’ll be providing my own personal Top 25 poll each week during the college basketball season. My poll philosophy is ranking the teams I believe are the best twenty five best in the country following that given week’s games. These rankings will start next week.
