104.5 The Team ESPN Radio (WTMM-FM), the Capital Region’s Home for New York Sports, announced this week that Jim Leyritz will be a New York Yankees Insider every Wednesday at 5:15 PM with Armen and Levack starting immediately.

A former catcher for the Yankees, Leyritz is affectionately remembered by Yankee fans as the hero of Game 4 in both the 1996 and 1999 World Series, with a clutch home run in each, helping secure both of Leyritz’s World Series rings. Leyritz now works for the Yankees organization and this week received his invitation to participate in the coveted Yankees Old-Timer’s Day.

“I’m looking forward to this,” said Leyritz, on Wednesday with Armen and Levack when he phoned in to make the announcement. “There’s nothing better than Yankees baseball and I’m sure with this year, there’s going to be a lot of things to talk about. It’s going to be an interesting season.”

Brand Manager Armen Williams says that the addition of Leyritz further epitomizes the station’s overall message. “As the home for Yankees baseball in the Capital Region, we want our listeners to know exactly what goes on behind the clubhouse doors. Jim brings 11 years of insight from playing at the big league level.”

Leyritz joins an impressive list of insiders on 104.5 The Team including ESPN NFL analyst Herm Edwards, ESPN MLB analyst Buster Olney and ESPN College Basketball analyst Dick Vitale.
