Fourteen years strong. That's how long Coaches vs Cancer in the Capital Region has been contributing to the fight with the American Cancer Society. This coming October, the tandem of UAlbany and Siena basketball communities will go over the $2 million mark and they'll do it with the help of this year's honorees.

New York state high school basketball's all-time leading scorer Joseph Girard III will receive an award in memory of his grandfather and Old Dominion head coach Jeff Jones will also be honored for his fight against cancer. Jones is currently battling prostate cancer for a second time. He led ODU to the NCAA Tournament this past season. Both Girard III and Jones will be in Albany on Monday, October 7 for the Coaches vs Cancer Basket "Ball".
