The New York Mets should still win the National League East but they have received a bite from the injury bug within the last week.  Carlos Carrasco, Taijuan Walker, Luis Guillorme, and Eduardo Escobar all are going to miss some games on the IL which could hurt the Mets.  They are in the middle of a pivotal series vs the Braves and have dropped the first two games while being outscored 18-1.  The offense has struggled recently but the Mets have their two aces in Max Scherzer and Jacob deGrom pitching for them the next two nights.  The Mets will need several guys to step up and they even called one of their top prospects in star third baseman Brett Baty to help improve the offense.  Here is my quick take on this from The Times Union:

The only thing that can derail the New York Mets season would be injuries to key players. Carlos Carrasco is a starting pitcher the Mets rely on and now he’s out at least 3-4 weeks with an oblique strain. It’s not Jacob deGrom or Max Scherzer, but Carrasco is a significant loss to the Mets starting rotation as they try and hold off the Atlanta Braves and win the National League East. The Mets will once again ask David Peterson to step up.
