There weren’t many positive things that head coach Rex Ryan could say about the Jets getting pulverized by the Patriots 49-19 on Thanksgiving evening.

The New York Jets were absolutely awful on Thanksgiving evening against the New England Patriots.  How awful?   The Patriots scored three touchdowns in 52 seconds.  Yeah, the Jets were that awful.

Running back Shane Vereen scored on an 83-yard reception.  43 seconds later, Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez fumbled after running into his own offensive lineman (Brandon Moore) on a broken play.  Steve Gregory picked up the ball and raced 32 yards for a touchdown.  9 seconds later, Joe McKnight fumbled on the ensuing kickoff.  The ball landed right into the arms of Julian Edelman who raced in for another touchdown.

The Patriots scored 35 points in the 2nd quarter against the Jets.  The Jets turned the ball over five times.  The Patriots only turned the football over once.  The only Patriots fumble occurred when Julian Edelman got smacked by Jets safety LaRon Landry and coughed up the football.  The Patriots outgained the Jets 475 to 405.  The turnovers made all of the difference.

The Jets fall to 4-7 on the season while the Patriots improve to 8-3.  The Jets host the Arizona Cardinals next Sunday (Dec. 2) at 1:00pm ET.  Pregame coverage can be heard at Noon on 104.5 The Team, ESPN Radio.
