Which 518 Local Baseball Guys Will We Be Covering in 2022?
I can't wait for the Major League Baseball season to begin this Thursday. As we love to do here on Big Board Sports, we absolutely love to go local. We are the home for the New York Yankees here on 104.5 The Team ESPN Radio. We also give plenty of love to the New York Mets and the Boston Red Sox. But my personal favorite topic to cover is the local 518 products who are now having successful careers in the big leagues. Here is my quick take on this from the Times Union:
We have three Capital District baseball players, Ian Anderson, Kevin Smith and Jeff Hoffman who are ready to play big roles for their respective teams when the Major League Baseball season starts this week. Anderson from Shenendehowa is back in the starting rotation for the Atlanta Braves, and Smith who played at Columbia high school is getting a big chance and a fresh start with the Oakland A’s. Hoffman, a former Shaker high school standout will play a prominent role out of the bullpen for the Cincinnati Reds. When healthy, Tommy Kahnle, another Shaker graduate, will do the same for the Los Angeles Dodgers. And there are plenty more from the Capital District, who are close to getting on the big stage.
MJ and I had a conversation on all of these guys and their careers so far yesterday. Below is our full discussion on this.
We wish all of these locals guys the best of luck this year during the MLB season. And I can promise you that we will be covering them every step of the way.
