Whenever both RPI and Union play each other for their annual rivalry in early November it is always a great competitive game and a must watch.  This season both teams are very good.  RPI currently sits at 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.  Union also currently sits at 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.  Below is my quick take on this as seen in the Times Union:

The Union and RPI football teams are both having great seasons and will play each other in two weeks in the annual Dutchmen Shoes game at Frank Bailey Field. Both teams have just one loss and both are hoping for an at-large bid into the NCAA III tournament. The Shoe’s game is always a big but this year if both teams secure wins this Saturday the stakes will be even higher on November 11th.

MJ and I have on both Coach Isernia from RPI and Coach Poppe from Union on Big Board Sports every Monday.  Coach Isernia is at 11 and Coach Poppe is at 11:30.  Isernia has had a lot of success at RPI throughout his tenure so far and Poppe is off to a great start in his first year.  Below are both of their interviews from this past Monday.

The game is set for Saturday November 11th at 12 noon at Union.  Frank Bailey Field will be rocking for sure and I wish I could be there to cover it.  May the best team win in what should be a terrific between two very talented and well coached teams.
