UAlbany Unveils Alternate Football Uniforms

After a successful debut season for UAlbany football head coach Greg Gattuso in 2014, the Great Danes are looking to make more noise in the CAA this season.

This year, operating under the slogan : "A New Era," the Danes are ushering in a new alternate uniform for the first time.

The Danes current home uniforms feature all purple, with a yellow helmet and the usual "UAlbany" written inside an "A."

The road uniforms are all white with the same helmet.

This uniform will feature a purple helmet with "UALBANY" written in text. The uniform is one color (anthracite grey). The numbers are purple with a gold outline.

“We are always going to be a traditional team and wear our traditional colors, but it’s nice to have a third uniform,” said Head Coach Greg Gattuso to UAlbanysports.com. “It’s great for recruiting and we’re excited to have it.”

“The kids want to wear them as soon as possible,” added Gattuso. "They’d probably wear them at Buffalo if I’d let them, but we’re going to wear them against Rhode Island and then probably another game later in the year.”
